Madigan's Birthday

Hi everyone. It has been so long since I published anything...Maybe I am not as good at this as I thought! Anyway,a lot has gone on. Gabriel loves school. He tells us school was great! That is a huge blessing. He is learning a lot. He knows all his shapes and a lot of his numbers by sight. He can recite his alphabet. We are working on recognizing his alphabet. The kids had a good time over Christmas. They loved the toys that Santa brought. It was fun having two kids this year. Bill was off work for 3 weeks, so the adjustment when he went back to work was a little difficult. We got a lot accomplished on our house. We painted the office, dining room and Madigan's room. We had two parties for Madigan's birthday. She is walking and says Mama and Dada. She is into everything, very different from Gabriel. He knew that there was only one cupboard he could play in. Needless to say, we have Madigan-proofed the cupboards in the kitchen. She keeps us on our toes that is for sure. We hope everyone is well and hope you like the pictures!

Gabriel Goes to School

Gabriel started school on Sept. 4. To our amazement, he loved it. He didn't cry (like I did), he wasn't nervous (like I was), he wasn't worried about making friends(like I was), he wasn't worried that his teacher would like him(like I was). He loved it! When I picked him up he said he wanted to go back. He got a new backpack, which is as big as he is, and he has a locker. He thinks that is pretty cool! That weekend, we went to a fire station open house. If you haven't been, I highly recommend it! It was very cool. We got to sit in all of the fire engines and talk to the firemen. It was very fun. I have included pictures from both. Enjoy!

Neat Travels

Well, we had a couple of fun days last week. On Friday, the kids and I went to Greenfield Village with Noelle, Orlagh, Cormac, Padraig, Dowa, and Grandma Watson. We had a lot of fun. I have included a couple of pictures. Since Bill has been gone the last vcouple of weeks, we decided to do something fun with Gabriel (Madigan doesn't seem to care about "fun things"), so we took him to Frankenmuth. He really liked Bronners (so did Madigan, I don't think she stopped looking around once). He was very excited to see Santa and he got a new John Deere tractor ornament that he proceeded to break beofre we even got out of the store. It was a long day, but both kids seemed to have a good time.

Pottytraining 101

Well, the HUGE news here is that Gabriel is potty trained! A couple of weeks ago, I decided that the "intro" to potty training had taken long enough, it was time to go hard-core, so he had a choice of underwear or a pull-up. He chose a pull-up and went pee about 30 times, and pooped twice. Since then, he has not had any accidents during the day, so we are really excited about that. We were so excited that we took him to his favorite restaurant, Red Robin to celebrate! I never thought I would be blogging about pee and poop, but as any Mother will tell you, it is a very big deal. Madigan is doing well, drooling all over us! You can easily see her tooth now, so that is very cute. She sat up once last week, but has decided that she really doesn't like that view, and won't do it again! Hopefully, I can get a picture of a very cute girl with one tooth, sitting up and I will post it. Have a great week!

Sorry its been awhile. It is not as easy to find computer time when you have two! We had Madigan's dedication on July 13. It was a beautiful day. It was easpecially beautiful for Bill and I. To make a proclimation, in a church, in front of friends and family to dedicate your child to God is a very big deal. Madigan was a very good girl, almost like she knew what was happening and that it was a big deal. Here are some pictures from the church and from the party at our house after. Sorry Gabriel isn't in many, he was busy with his friends!
